Enough about Michael Jackson already!

Michael Jackson, dead at age 50; what a shame, what a waste. The world mourns for this lost talent. And mourn we should. But to make an idol out of him, buy his old recordings with our last grocery money, scream and cry and carry on as if we just lost our best friend and allow the networks and the media to - for weeks on end - preempt television programming for someone who has been basically ignored for the last several years due to child molestation allegations while they pump this story for ratings and monetary gain - well, this is not only hypocritical but plain wrong on many levels...And it plainly shows how depraved humanity as a collective whole has become.

The world was stunned to hear of Michael Jackson's death on June 25th, 2009, and the media immediately jumped all over the story - first, to bring the shocking news to the world; then to slowly pick apart his life, every last sad and sordid detail of it; from his astounding music career, to his child molestation charges, to his "freakish" appearance from too much plastic surgery, to his supposed drug abuse and the odd living arragements he had with his ex-wife and mother of two of his children, Debbie Rowe. They can't leave Michael alone, even in death. His passing will be headline news for months, just as was the passing of Princess Diana in August 1997 when the media began to inundate us for YEARS on end about her life.

We hadn't heard much from Michael Jackson since 2003, after the world turned its collective back on him and his child molestation scandal (which the media dissected from start to finish until it came out of our ears); but now that he's dead, people around the world are crawling out of the proverbial woodwork to idolize him once more. One lady who was interviewed about putting her "hat in the ring" in order to get a ticket to attend his memorial service made the odd comment that getting to attend Michael Jackson's memorial service would be "like a dream come true." (It was a "dream" of hers to do this? What is the matter with people today?) Perhaps she was among those who sold her colorful memorial program on Ebay for $600. After all, many are making money off Michael's death, so why shouldn't some of the attendees of the memorial service? Perhaps they could all get together to pay off Jackson's $400 million in debt?

Since his death, you can't turn on the television without hearing about Michael Jackson. There seems to be no other news besides the death of Michael Jackson and the fight over his will and his children and, more recently, the news that he may have died from drug abuse. The Middle East saga with its endless terrorism and senseless bloodshed was put on the back burner even as American soldiers keep dying in our war against Islam. That story has been put on "the back burner." So has the fact that North Korea is kicking sand in the face of the world and threatening to annihilate the West with its nuclear warheads. That's on the back burner, too, along with the breaking story about the uprising and rioting in China that has resulted in more than a thousand arrests - all that pales in comparison to the news of Michael Jackson's death....

Ironically, Farrah Fawcett died on the same day as Michael Jackson, but she barely received any coverage at all. Same thing happened in 1997 when Mother Theresa died just a week after Princess Diana was killed in a tragic automobile accident. The media barely mentioned the saintly Mother Theresa who was a Nobel Peace Prize winner for devoting her entire life to helping the sick, the needy and the poor - because Princess Diana, a figurehead with a failed marriage under her belt who served for years as gossip fodder turned out to be the world's favorite icon and idol. Her romps with Muslim billionaire Dodi al Fayed were way more important and interesting than some old woman spending her time caring for the sick....

There is no doubt that if Yeshua, the Savior of the world who martyred Himself so that man could have everlasting life, had been crucified and died on the same day as Princess Diana or Michael Jackson, He would, like Mother Theresa, have been an afterthought, a mere fifteen or thirty-second commentary. "Jesus of Nazareth died today after hanging on the cross for six hours. There was a great earthquake right after he died and many graves were opened to allow the souls of dead believers to pass into heaven. His mother and a few other believers cried silently as the body was taken down from the cross and placed in a nearby tomb....Meanwhile, back at the Neverland Ranch, the body of Michael Jackson...."

The media hounds, for the most part, haven't been very good to Michael. They've always leapt at the chance to dig up "dirt" on him and to photograph his every move in hopes of catching him in the act of displaying the renown weird behavior he was famous for. Not once did we hear that Michael Jackson was a pathetic and lonely soul who tried to fill that little "hole in his soul that only God can fill" with money, fame and possessions and pseudo friends who hung around only because they wanted to freeload off the great Michael Jackson. No - it was much more fun to gossip about him and degrade him.

The poor guy had such self-loathing that he was never happy with his looks and got so much plastic surgery that he didn't even look human anymore. Instead of someone (such as his illustrious, bellowing pastor friends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who love to be seen opening their big mouths on television about anything except God and the Bible) trying to "lead him to the Lord" so that he might be able to find some inner peace, they kept mum while the secular, godless media with their carefully coiffed "talking heads" and their ridiculous parade of professional "analysts" stomped on Jackson's feelings, called him a freak and a pedophile, made fun of him at every turn and basically kicked him while he was down and out. Well - they kept mum until now....

Sharpton, during his July 5th speech at Los Angeles' First AME church, rather than to bring the importance of God into this whole issue, he talked about how Michael Jackson should be honored commensurate with his star status - meaning a postage stamp, a national day of mourning, and deferential treatment from the media. (A national day of mourning and a postage stamp for a troubled singer who had "sleepovers" with young boys, often wore face masks in public, and was $400 milion in debt??? Let's hope President Obama doesn't decide to jump on this ridiculous bandwagon and bail Jackson out, post-mortem....)

Rather than to talk about GOD, Sharpton instead voiced his opinion about how certain press outlets have covered Jackson's death, saying there was a "disrespectful double standard" between the "Thriller" singer and other fallen icons such as Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley. Later, during Tuesday's memorial service, he got a standing ovation at Jackson's memorial service on July 7 for saying, "I want his children to know there was nothing strange about your daddy, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with." What planet is Sharpton from?

Michael Jackson's life was all about himself because he obviously didn't know YHWH (Yahweh) or His Torah - THAT is what Sharpton should have said. If Jackson had been "saved" things might have turned out differently. He wouldn't have needed "things" and "stuff" or drugs and alcohol to numb his mind because he would have instead been reveling in the joy of Torah - getting "high" on the Seventh Day Sabbath rest and relishing the inward peace that comes with keeping and knowing what the Biblical Feasts are all about....

We live in an ever sicker society where we focus not upon God and His Torah (our only blueprint for moral, holy living), but upon man-made ideas and concepts that make us feel good and provide instant gratification. It's a sick society that deified Princess Diana and turned her into an icon, and it's a sick society that is in the process of deifying Michael Jackson! Our society is "all about us" and it shows, because we are "as in the days of Noah" where decadence and lawlessness and stupidity reign.

Nobody is able to take their money and fame with them into the grave - and certainly not into eternity. Even our headstones eventually become illegible before they finally crumble into dust. When we die, that's the end, and most people are simply gone and forgotten. Ask any young person today who Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, James Dean, Dwight D. Eisenhower or Richard Nixon were, and they're sure to give you that "deer in the headlights" look. Dead, gone, forgotten....

The ONLY thing that never dies or changes is God and His Word which offers believers eternal life through the atoning death of His Son, Yeshua! More than 300 Bible prophecies have already come true and there are just a few more to go before Yeshua's soon return. But do pastors bother to preach this? No! Most are too busy being "in the world" themselves. None of them preach Yeshua AND Torah or the importance of obedience to God! Their sermons are empty and full of ear-tickling fluff and, like most people, after doing their hour-long, Sunday meet-n-greet and collecting their tithes, they run home to watch those idiotic "reality shows"....

Judging from everything that is going on in the world, Yeshua's return will be sooner than we think - probably within the next few years. And hardly anybody notices that the Books of Daniel and Revelation are unfolding before our very eyes. "The world" is full of self-absorbed, me-oriented people, all looking to fill that little hole in their souls that seem to be bottomless pits of emptiness, loss and loneliness. What a shame, because the answer to ALL our problems is in YHWH and His Torah! If Michael Jackson had only known....
