There has been a lot of uproar about the things Carrie Prejean (Miss California) said and did. It doesn't matter what side of the fence we're on concerning homosexuality or nude photos of "beauty queens"; the bottom line is, when someone brings God into the picture, they'd best know what they are talking about!
First: The "gay community" became bent out of shape because of Prejean's comments that she felt marriage should be between a husband and a wife. The Bible says she is right. End of story.
Leviticus 18: 22 You are not to go to bed with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.
1 Corinthians 6: 9 Don't you know that unrighteous people will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't delude yourselves - people who engage in sex before marriage, who worship idols, who engage in sex after marriage with someone other than their spouse, who engage in active or passive homosexuality, 10 who steal, who are greedy, who get drunk, who assail people with contemptuous language, who rob - none of them will share in the Kingdom of God.
Deuteronomy 22: 5 "A woman is not to wear men's clothing, and a man is not to put on a women's clothing; for whoever does these things is detestable to ADONAI your God.
1 Timothy 1: 9 We are aware that Torah is not for a person who is righteous, but for those who are heedless of Torah and rebellious, ungodly and sinful, wicked and worldly, for people who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral - both heterosexual and homosexual - slave dealers, liars, perjurers, and anyone who acts contrary to the sound teaching 11 that accords with the Good News of the Glorious and blessed God.
Second: Concerning the investigation into the fact that she had posed in the buff, Ms. Prejean said the following:
"I am a Christian and I am a model. Models pose for pictures including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recent photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith."
Baloney! A true CHRISTIAN doesn't show off his/her body, or put themselves in situations where they will be forced to pose nude or nearly nude. YHWH commanded women to behave and "dress modestly, with decency and propriety” (1 Timothy 2:9). He also promised that, if we obey His commands, it will go well with us (Deuteronomy 6:3).
1 Timothy 2:9-10: I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
1 Peter 3:2-5: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful.
"But, oh wait! Christians don't have to do that "Old Testament" stuff anymore! That was all abolished at the cross"....
No wonder the world is in the shape it's in! This is what happened as a result of Christianity's negating Torah - God's original Divine instructions without which we would have NO blueprint for moral, holy living....
Regardless as to how anyone feels about the above issues, beauty pageants and "nudie magazines" such as Playboy and Hustler are straight from Satan because they exploit women and send a wrong message to the world concerning sex and sexuality. (Of course, we shouldn't say that to "Devout Catholic Christopher West" who is raking in millions for himself by telling Catholics they can get closer to God through great sex and admitted he loves Hugh Hefner for his role in glorifying sex.
Amazingly, most people fall for the "fluff" and false theology espoused by people like Carrie Prejean and Christopher West....After all, they are catering to the world's "carnal" side.
