Dear Refiner's Fire...

Your website is very interesting, but I am confused as to what you believe. I can see you're not exactly Christian or Catholic. Are you Seventh Day Adventists or Jehovah's witnesses or something like that? I'm also confused by the names of Yeshua and YHWH, which I've seen spelled differently on other similar sites, i.e., Yahuweh and Yashua. What does this mean?

Our Response...

Hello and thank you for writing to The Refiner's Fire!

No, we're not Seventh Day Adventists or Jehovah's witnesses or some cult. Nor have we started a "new" religion. We are Netzari - Messianic believers. Netzarim is Hebrew for Nazarene - the original followers of Yeshua (Jesus) who worshipped exactly like He taught us to worship.

Yeshua (whose Name is Hebrew for "Yahweh is Salvation"), was a Torah observant, kosher, Feast and seventh day Sabbath-keeping Jew who came to teach people about His Father YHWH (Yahweh), to show people how to live according to YHWH, and then to die as our Final SIN Sacrifice so that we might be able to receive eternal life, not by having to kill innocent animals any longer, but simply by "believing" that He died as our Sin Sacrifice. (Catholics teach that Mary is the important one, but that's not true. Yeshua is the One who died for us, not her. She was simply the vessel YHWH chose to "give birth" to the Messiah, a human vessel containing His Divine Nature.)

The reason for all these different names is also very simple: It's nothing more than the way people choose to spell the transliterated Names of God from the Hebrew. Yeshua's Name in Hebrew looks like this:

To transliterate its pronunication properly into English it would be written "Yahashua"...Some people opt to write it as "Y'shua" and others as "Yeshua" and so forth.

YHWH (pronounced Yahweh) looks like this in Hebrew and this Name has unfortunately been botched by various misspellings and pronunciations:

Jehovah's Witnesses have also botched the Name by adding vowels to YHWH (and using a "J" instead of a "Y", which is false because Hebrew doesn't have a "J" sound) and coming up with "Jehovah" - which, in reality, if you were to look at that word from a Hebrew point of view, would seem to mean: Je (Yahweh) hovah (mischief or confusion). In other words, they've botched it to the point that His Name means "mischief and confusion"....Satan must be so happy!

Anyway, as you can see, the Word of God and the spelling of His Name has been messed around with so much that it's confusing to EVERYBODY. Please be sure to read the articles on our Challenging Mainstream Christianity page because they will serve to enlighten you a whole lot!

Netzarim/Messianics are Torah observant, which means we follow what is shown in the first five books of the Bible. We keep the commanded seventh day Sabbath and the Biblical Feasts, and we do not eat anything "unclean" because YHWH Himself never said that pork and shellfish, etc. were clean. This is a huge misconception by Catholics and Christians who have misunderstood the writings of Paul to mean "all foods are now clean" just because Yeshua died. Nothing could be further from the Truth!

Now, please understand, today we cannot follow those "613 commands" because most of them applied to the ancient priests, and some were only for men, while others are only for women. We follow what we can, especially those commands that contain the "forever" command.

The bottom line is the MAN has twisted the Word of God and consequently, we have thousands of different denominations and religions, NONE of which are even close. Regardless as to what we label ourselves, if we're not Torah observant believers in Messiah Yeshua, we are OFF the mark and simply not "doing it right."
