Challenging the antics of "psychics" and "mediums"
WARNING: If you're a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you MUST stay away from "psychics" and "mediums" of any kind - especially those who are pretending to be in tune with God, such as Sherry Daniel of the Heaven Project (who is nothing more than a "psychic" who never once utters the Name of YHWH) and Sylvia Browne who has managed to write several books and get herself onto some TV talk shows.
These people have placed their mortal souls in danger and are obviously only "in it for the money!" No mere human has the power to present you with the "key to heaven" and no mere human knows what your future holds; only YHWH (Yahweh), our Creator, has that ability! The "powers" and "abilities" that "psychics" possess are those that God's enemy, Satan, has endowed them with. This article will concentrate on the hideous deception of Sylvia Browne who constantly uses the Name of Jesus to "justify" her twisted teachings.
Scripture is clear concerning card reading, astrology, and psychics, mediums and sorcery:
Sylvia Browne is a supposed believer in Jesus, yet her actions clearly go against anything the Bible says. For instance, on her website she insists that God is both male and female and that there are many gods.
What Bible is this woman reading? Oklahoma City University professor, Bryan Farha, has done an expose on Browne's antics, but we intend to take it a step further by comparing her comments to what the Bible actually says! We have inserted our challenges directly into her ridiculous assertions, below:
Browne's assertion:
Does it startle you even to think of a Female God? It should, because our society has been misled (for about 2000 years) and taught that God is only male. How ridiculous! Why would a single, male god make everything in creation as a paired male/female? It is much more sensible that God's creation mirrors Their own image, both male and female.
The Netzarim response:
Let's examine this from the Hebrew and Aramaic viewpoints:
"The phrase B'resheet aytohi hwa miltha, breaks a most basic rule of Aramaic grammar by combining a feminine noun (miltha) with two masculine verbs for "to be" (aytohi, hwa). This is unheard of in Aramaic literature other than right here in this passage and in 1 John. This shows YHWH (Yahweh) has male and female "images/spirits" even though YHWH remains a He. It may also be a midrash on Isaiah 11:1-2, which describes the Spirit of YHWH descending on Mashiyach using both masculine and feminine suffixes. This is not something easily translated, let alone when it occurs within the first four words." - Source: Aramaic English New Testament.
If Ms. Browne would read the Bible in context, she would discover that, while Yahweh might have male and female "images/spirits" He is always referred to in the masculine gender! In Hebrew, the Shekinah, the manifestation of God's presence that fills the universe (Holy Spirit), is conceived of in feminine terms, and the word Shekinah is a feminine word. But that does not make our Creator or His Son female! The foreshadowed Messiah of Israel both in the Bible and in the Talmud (Jewish "oral Torah") is referred to in the masculine gender. Even all the angels referred to in the Bible are male!
Furthermore, Yeshua was an adopted son of Yoseph (Matthew 1: 16-18).
Matthew 1: 18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
All the first born killed in Bethlehem during Yeshua's time were male (Matthew 2:16-23).
Matthew 2: 16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.
Yeshua, the first-born male, redeemed lives because He is the lamb of God. (John 1:29-36)
John 1: 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel." 32 Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."
Messiah was to be a prophet like unto Moses - not a prophetess. (Deuteronomy 18:15, 18, 19.)
Deuteronomy 18: 15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. 16 For this is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, "Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die." 17 The LORD said to me: "What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
Yeshua was our Final Sin Sacrifice; the Levitical offerings for High Priests and congregations were always MALES (Leviticus 4: 13-14)! Sins of the common Israelites required female animals, goats, lambs, turtledoves, or pigeons and in the case of the very poor an offering of grain was acceptable. Yahweh was very gracious, allowing for those who couldn't afford male bulls to offer something much less expensive. Today however, believers count among Yeshua's "congregation", which requires a MALE sacrifice:
Leviticus 4: : 13 If the entire community of Isra'el (all believers in Christ are part of Israel!) inadvertently makes a mistake, with the assembly being unaware of the matter, and they do something against any of the mitzvot of ADONAI concerning things which should not be done, they are guilty. 14 When the sin they have committed becomes known, then the assembly is to offer a young bull as a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting.
Browne goes on to say:
The most simplistic explanation is the obvious one, that there are multiple gods. The exact number of gods is uncertain, but Novus accepts at least two: Om - the Father God, and Azna - the Mother God. We believe that the Gods are paired male/female just like all of creation, and just like the Bible tells us in Genesis.
The Netzarim response:
Multiple Gods? Apparently Ms. Browne needs to read the "Shema" of Deuteronomy 6:4 from the Jewish Scriptures: Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, the Lord is one ("echad" - the plural form of "one" such as "one DOZEN" eggs, or "one BUNCH of grapes" - NOT different gods). Furthermore, the Bible tells us God's Name is not "Om" but YHWH, and that He is ONE! Before blindly believing the nonsense of so-called "psychics", we would urge you to check the Bible for yourselves to see what it really says!
Browne continues:
How did the name Azna come about? Through Francine, my "Spirit Guide!" Francine reports that the Mother God is a vital and active force in the daily affairs of our world. In fact, Azna is the one to petition when you need Divine intervention to resolve problems. Where the Father God maintains a constant loving force, the Mother God will actively take an interest in helping you and can change things around to make life better. Anytime we use the word "God," please understand that we imply both the Male and Female Gods. For together They made our world and are the loving Parents of humanity.
The Netzarim response:
How did the name Azna come about? Obviously, through Satan whose demons are waiting for people like Browne who are willing to open themselves up to demons!
"In fact, Azna is the one to petition when you need Divine intervention to resolve problems." Pardon us, but we must have misunderstood the words of Yeshua Himself who said HE was our intercessor; the "way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).....
Folks, the above is but a small sampling of the false assertions about God and the Bible slithering from the website pages of "psychics" such as Sylvia Browne and Sherry Daniels. In the case of Browne, it is obvious that she has purposely twisted the Bible in order to suit her own agenda; she has clearly put God in a box and is trying to force Him into being whoever she thinks He's supposed to be! And the tragedy is: she's influencing others to follow her down the wrong road. God has given us ample warning against idols and false gods:
The Bible tells us that evil spirits are active in astrology, fortune-telling or soothsaying, mediums, the occult, etc. The Sylvia Brownes and Sherry Daniels of this world do NOT know your future and cannot provide you with "heaven on Earth"! They are nothing more than FRAUDS bent on bilking you out of your money! Yahweh created us, and only He knows what our future holds.
By consulting a "psychic" you are, in essence, telling God you do not trust Him. Big mistake - one that could cause you to lose your place in heaven! If you have made it a habit to consult "psychics" about your future, we at The Refiner's Fire urge you to pray and ask God to help you deal with your addiction because it will only lead you into the pits of hell.
Here's what one of our readers wrote about Sherry Daniels:
I have a sister who is a highly intelligent person, but she appears to be completely brain-washed by this Sherry Daniels cult. Through my sister I discovered they talk about aliens and how we are all connected and that Sherry Daniel is in fact God - the Source, as my sister refers to it all. She has pledged all of her money to these people, in a quest to gain spiritual truth!
Unfortunately they teach their followers that the Negativity of the world will prevent them from connecting with The Source, so whatever I say about the insanity of all of this will be confirmation in her mind that I am in the clutches of the Negativity! I have decided therefore not to speak against her new-found friends, but just to keep speaking positive Biblical truths into her life about God, as I know Him. And to pray for guidance from Him in declaring spiritual warfare and intervention by Christians on her behalf.
