Can I believe in God and be Wiccan at the same time?
Can I believe in God and be Wiccan at the same time?
The Bible tells us that YHWH (Yahweh/The Creator) alone is God; there is no other. Below are but a few examples:
Psalm 86: 9 All the nations you have made will come and bow before you, Adonai; they will honor your name. 10 For you are great, and you do wonders; you alone are God. (Stern's Complete Jewish Bible)
Deuteronomy 32: 39 See now that I, yes, I, am he; and there is no god beside me. I put to death, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; no one saves anyone from my hand! (Stern's)
Isaiah 45: 5 I am ADONAI; there is no other; besides me there is no God. I am arming you, although you don't know me, (Stern's)
Deuteronomy 6: 4 "Sh'ma, Yisra'el! ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI echad [Hear, Isra'el! ADONAI our God, ADONAI is one]; (Stern's)
NOTE: If you believe in YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you are a part of Israel. And God told Israel: "I give you good instruction: Do not forsake my Torah" (Proverbs 4:2) And Paul reiterated this when he said: Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law. (Romans 3:31)
Paul also wrote in Acts 21:
Acts 21: 25. As to those of the Gentiles who have believed, we have written, that they should keep themselves from (an idol’s) sacrifice, and from sexual sin, and from what is strangled, and from blood." 26. Then Paul took those men, on the following day, and was purified with them; and he entered and went into the temple, explaining to them how to complete the days of the purification, up to the presentation of the offering by each of them.
YHWH, our Creator, repeatedly warns us that we are not to worship any thing or anybody besides Him:
Deuteronomy 4: 19 "Be careful that you don't worship the sun, moon, and stars."
Deuteronomy 18:9-11: "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft..."
2 Chronicles 33:5-7: "He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger."
Galatians 5:19-21: Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Deuteronomy 17:2-5 tells us those who worshipped the sun, moon, or stars were to be stoned. Leviticus 20:6 tells us God will separate himself from those who go after mediums and familiar spirits. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says that practicing witchcraft, sorcery, soothsaying, interpreting omens, making spells, and being a medium or spiritist, are all terrible sins to God. Acts 16:16-18 talks of a girl who was possessed by an evil spirit that enabled her to be a fortune teller. The Apostle Paul commanded the evil spirit to come out of her in the name or authority of Jesus, and the spirit left her....
Astrologers, Satanists, witches, psychics, and all those who are dabbling in magic of some kind - take heed: Man's efforts to predict omens and tell the future are always fruitless. These "gifts" come from Satan, not from your Creator. Dabbling in these will only result in certain spiritual death.
God has specific warnings for people who insist on being "lukewarm" towards Him, or outright rejecting Him:
Revelation 21: 8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
Matthew 7:22-24: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On that Day, many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord! Didn't we prophesy in your name? Didn't we expel demons in your name? Didn't we perform many miracles in your name?' Then I will tell them to their faces, `I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!'
And what is the "lawlessness" Yeshua refers to? Failure to adhere to YHWH's Torah! Get familiar with it; it's God's Divine Instructions to you!)
....And so we leave it up to you to figure out if you want to serve YHWH or His enemy, Satan....But know this: We are in the end times as outlined in the Books of Daniel and Revelation. It won't be much longer before Yeshua returns to Earth to rule and reign for one thousand years. If you outright reject Him or think He will forgive you if you choose to dabble around with idols or "other gods" - think again, because the Bible tells us otherwise!
